Retinalmade and Readymade - Todd Bartel
Made using exclusively readymade material—found within GarageBand software and various literary, aural* and video sources—Retinalmade and Readymade is a sound collage containing clippings taken from various interviews with Marcel Duchamp set to jazz, bluegrass, house, and hip-hop rhythms. Retinalmade and Readymade is itself a triptych work:
part I: Retinal Art (jazz)
part II: Spectator (bluegrass)
part III: Readymade (hip-hop, house, with a nod to Elton John's "Benny and the Jets.")
* The intro to Retinalmade and Readymade contains a recording of Roma Bartel's first experience playing the violin.
Retinalmade and Readymade is the second part of a diptych work that celebrates the importance of Marcel Duchamp's contributions to the history of art. The first part is titled Happy Idea.
Credits: assembled and recorded by Todd Bartel; with excerpts from various recordings, interviews, and videos of Marcel Duchamp.

« Prendete un giornale. Prendete le forbici. Scegliete nel giornale un articolo della lunghezza che desiderate per la vostra poesia. Ritagliate l'articolo. Ritagliate poi accuratamente ognuna delle parole che compongono l'articolo e mettetele in un sacco. Agitate delicatamente. Tirate poi fuori un ritaglio dopo l'altro dispondendoli nell'ordine in cui sono usciti dal sacco. Copiate scrupolosamente. La poesia vi somiglierà. Ed eccovi divenuto uno scrittore infinitamente origin...
" take a newspaper. Get the scissors. Choose in the newspaper an article of the length you wish for your poetry. Cut the article. Then carefully cut each of the words that make up the article and put them in a lot. Gently agitated. Then pull out a clipping after the other dispondendoli in the order they came out of the bag. Copy scrupulously. The poem will like you. And you have become an infinitely original writer and exquisite sensitivity, although misunderstood by the turn. "
(Tristan tzara - to make a poem dadaist)
After the boring postcard... the boring poetry
--------------
Take a boring poem... of those....." who will raise me then from overwhelming anguish.. and what light will light my path? ......... in you I discovered the immensity of the sky.... " cut the various lines in strips and still in various pieces to be together to own taste... in a more Royal Collage of the royal
The process involves being harsh and cruel, pure and honest with the work that is preparing and will be introduced among men.
Boring poetry no. 1-thank you giusy v.
Only the fresh innocence of the
Heart suspended in days finally
He could banish an incredulous dawn
I dried with my little hands
Winter without return
I look at you
The blooming eyes of blue and purple flowers.
Your agile eyes kidnapped by a huge future.
You Versasti your spring in my smile
